From now until March 21, new North American PSP Go owners that add a PlayStation Network to their systems will be eligible to receive a free game from the PlayStation Store: either Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines or LittleBigPlanet PSP . After the registration process, SCEA will e-mail a special code that enables the free download.

Niitsuma: Capcom-developed games starring Tatsunoko characters ‘a possibility’
by ActilireCreep on Jan.20, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Speaking to Joystiq, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom producer Ryota Niitsuma has said that the prospect of future Capcom-made games based on Tatsunoko properties is indeed a possibility. “The reception of the game by Tatsunoko was quite positive,” Niitsuma told us. “[Tatsunoko] saw how we were able to incorporate the characters very successfully into a fighting game, so I think that, in the future, that could lead to us using Tatsunoko characters in other ways.” “I can’t say there’s any concrete information, or there have been any steps in that direction yet, but I think the possibility is there,” he said.

Mega Man 10’s Robot Masters revealed
by ActilireCreep on Jan.13, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
CoroCoro magazine has posted character portraits and descriptions of all eight Robot Masters in Mega Man 10 . While there are a few weird ones, for the most part, the foes feature the usual fire/ice/water/explosive themes we expect from Mega Man bosses. We’ve seen Sheep Man and Commando Man previously, but now we know about Nitro Man, Strike Man (the sports-themed boss whose level was shown at CES), Blade Man (whose head is a blade ), Chill Man, Solar Man, and …

Trauma Team characters detailed by Atlus, a real doctor
by ActilireCreep on Dec.31, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Atlus has introduced the full compliment of the six staffers that make up its upcoming Trauma Team . I asked my wife, an actual doctor, to provide me with some insight on each specialty. My take: Playing as this guy sounds like the other Trauma Center games, except I think they all had names and CR-SO1 is not a name. I’m assuming that, as in previous games and in real surgery, he’ll be able to draw a magical sign that slows down time

In responding to a question on Twitter last Friday, community man Robert Bowling said, “The Steam ban hammer is coming down on about 2,500 confirmed #MW2 cheaters on PC today .” We contacted Bowling to find out how frequently the bans will be taking place and have yet to hear back.

by ActilireCreep on Oct.12, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
How it is that a company as business savvy as Activision misses the staring-them-right-in-the-face opportunity to name a kart racing-themed Madagascar game “Madagaskartz,” rather than Madagascar Kartz ? That’s just what the company has named its upcoming kart racer, starring the cast of the animated movie, coming to current-gen consoles on October 27th.

Resisting new Star Trek Online screens is futile
by ActilireCreep on Oct.06, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
clicking isn’t futile The folks at Cryptic have released some new screens of the upcoming Star Trek Online , and let’s just say that Locutus fans should be pretty pumped. That’s right, we finally get to take a look at the Borg (sounds Swedish …) as they appear in the game. We can’t help but imagine actually playing as a member of the Borg collective in the game, though that might be just a tad unfair to the rest of the organic exploring the virtual universe. The screens also show off some of the spacecraft available in the game

Ubisoft picks up Heroes Over Europe for worldwide release
by ActilireCreep on Jul.02, 2009, under Features, Gadgets, Media, Video Games
The fate of Heroes over Europe was in question when the agreement between publisher Red Mile and developer Transmission Games dissipated, due to an unfortunate lack of money on Red Mile’s part. Ubisoft is now the hero of every prospective Heroes of Europe player, having just announced that it will publish the World War II flight simulator on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The Heroes Over the Pacific sequel , which features online play for up to 16 players, is currently scheduled for a worldwide release this September. by ActilireCreep on Jun.24, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
You may find this hard to believe, but removing the Call of Duty from Modern Warfare 2 ’s title — it’s confusing some people. In fact, according to a survey conducted by GamePlan Insights — a game tracking service offered by OTX — and reported by Gamasutra , 50% fewer people knew about the game. “In other words, the Call of Duty brand association essentially doubles the awareness for the game,” GamePlan head Nick Williams told the site.
