by adol77dai51 on Jan.27, 2010, under DTV, Features, Gadgets, Media, Rumors, Video Games, iPhone

There’s still time for a few more quick Apple tablet rumors before Apple totally surprises everyone by announcing a tablet! The latest pre-announcement rumors come from entrepreneur Jason Calacanis (who used to own us ), who claims to have been given the device in advance due to his “pundit” status. In a series of tweets, he listed a bunch of possible details about the device, including an OLED screen, HDTV tuner, ability to run multiple apps simultaneously (currently not present in iPhone OS), wireless keyboard connectivity, and $599, $699, and $799 price points for various models depending on size and memory. It also features front and back cameras like the DSi. Speaking of Nintendo, Calacanis said that ” Apple tablet games are sick. Basically nintendo wii-level innovation.” He cited an “insane” custom implementation of Farmville to be shown on the stage today.

by adol77dai51 on Jan.27, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

image source: Comedy Central PC gamers have long been vocal about intrusive DRM programs hidden in their games. With illegal game downloads in the millions , publishers are desperately trying to find new solutions in the war against piracy. Ubisoft’s upcoming The Settlers 7 will introduce a new DRM model for the company, one that doesn’t require disc authentication and allows multiple installations across multiple systems. “If you own a hundred PCs, you can install your games on a hundred PCs,” Ubisoft’s Brent Wilkinson told GameSpy

There, in the dim light of dawn, you will forsake all that was sacred of the Thanksgiving, and take what’s yours — for an awfully good price

BioShock 2 cover is familiar, absolutely filthy

by adol77dai51 on Nov.17, 2009, under Features, Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Not to be overshadowed by BioWare’s latest effort to depict Mass Effect 2 in one epic cover, 2K Games has released the box art for BioShock 2 — and it doesn’t win any points for originality or cleanliness. Just like the first game’s cover, it features Big Daddy (this time he’s you!) and Little Sister (not you).

This is Modern Warfare 2’s official launch party

by adol77dai51 on Nov.10, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

It seems a bit silly to have a launch party for a game that pretty much ” launched ” already. NYC became host to the official Modern Warfare 2 launch, where enthusiasts were able to wait on line for their chance to play the game. After the festivities, they could walk one block away to GameStop to buy a copy of the game at midnight — and no sooner

2009 Gran Turismo Awards choose 1970 Ford Mustang ‘Trans-Cammer’ for inclusion in GT5

by adol77dai51 on Nov.09, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

The 1970 Ford Mustang “Trans-Cammer” you see above will soon be getting the digital treatment in Gran Turismo 5 after taking home this year’s Gran Turismo Award honor at SEMA . For the seventh year in a row, a handful of judges (including Gran Turismo 5 lead Kazunori Yamauchi ) chose a car from the auto event for inclusion in an upcoming Gran Turismo title. Yamauchi said of the event, “We have been very pleased with the high quality of vehicles vying for the award the past seven years, and look forward to having this 1970 Ford Mustang ‘Trans-Cammer’ join our list of distinguished past winners as part of the Gran Turismo franchise.” The 1970 Ford Mustang “Trans-Cammer” by Philip Koenen follows Marcel Horn’s HPA Audi TT in 2007 and Brian Filoteo’s high-performance Infinity G37 in 2008, both seen below in the gallery.

Dhani Harrison: Rock Band 3 will make you better at actual rocking

by adol77dai51 on Nov.07, 2009, under Gadgets, How To, Media, Video Games

In a recent interview with the Chicago Tribune , Dhani Harrison, The Beatles: Rock Band contributor (and son of the late, great George Harrison), spoke about his involvement in future iterations of the popular rhythm franchise. “I’m working on Rock Band 3 and making the controllers more real so people can actually learn how to play music while playing the game,” Harrison explained toward the end of the interview. “Give me a couple years, it’s going to happen.” We wish Harrison and the entire Harmonix crew the best of luck in this endeavor, if only so they can finally stymie the infinitely deplorable “why don’t you learn how to play a real instrument” contingency

The Sims transformed into a horror movie

by adol77dai51 on Nov.04, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

“They won’t let me pee, they won’t let me sleep, they won’t let me eat.” – doomed Sim citizen Ah yes, the life of a Sim. Not so funny when one sees what life would be like if our actions were controlled by the unholy Plumbob (which is itself controlled by little Damian Van Horne of 999 Wisteria Lane). We understand that CollegeHumor was trying to be funny in its The Sims movie clip, but it actually encapsulates the pain and suffering of every Sim murdered by sadistic teenage girls around the world. Watch the full clip after the break. Save a Sim
