by arbitakap on Feb.22, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
PS3 owners have had access to Pieces Interactive’s Fret Nice since February 4 , leaving Xbox 360 owners nothing to do with their guitar controllers but play rhythm games. According to an announcement from Major Nelson, those Xbox 360 guitarists will be able to experience Fret Nice ’s new type of guitar heroism this Wednesday, Feb. 24, at a cost of 1,200 ($15). Fret Nice uses both the buttons and the tilt function of guitar controllers to move members of the Vibrant Chordblasters, as they fight against Hair B

Thanks to Newegg, you can grab 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand for a price closer than ever to 50 cents. As part of a “blowout” sale, you can pick up 50 for $9.99 on Xbox 360, or $12.99 on PS3 (a paltry 300 Cent more) with free shipping. If that’s not the particular style of bullet-ridden gameplay you seek, why not grab Metal Slug 7 on DS for just $9

[ Image credit: bloomsberries ] Despite PopCap ’s claim to appeal the original ruling of the lawsuit between it and MumboJumbo , a judge has awarded another $2.7 million to MumboJumbo citing “legal fees,” according to Develop . 193rd Civil District Court Judge Carl Ginsberg ruled earlier this week that PopCap would be burdened with the amount (which includes $525,000 in “post-verdict appeals”), making the total sum that MumboJumbo receives $7.3 million.

Max Payne 3 delayed until late 2010
by arbitakap on Dec.03, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
In a new financial earnings and projection report , Take-Two has dished out news of Max Payne 3’s release. The game’s been pushed back — we like to imagine in incredibly slow and dramatic fashion — to the company’s fiscal Q4 2010. In real time, that translates to a three-month period spanning August-October, 2010. The game was previously pegged for an unlikely Winter 2009 release. Based on what we’ve seen of Max Payne 3 so far, we’d say that bumping back its release is a good move

PSP firmware 6.10 is live and ready to Go
by arbitakap on Oct.01, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Version 6.10 of Sony’s handheld’s firmware announced earlier this evening is now ready for download. Hit the System Update option from the Settings section of your XMB, download, install and let us know what you think of the “mood music” SensMe whips up from your song library. Much to our disappointment, initial testing reveals that Sony didn’t implement our “I just made an expensive impulse purchase” mood after all

click to enlarge Aside from hosting playable game demos and extravagant cosplayers, the Tokyo Game Show offers up something for those less-than-frugal attendees on the prowl for nerdish knickknacks. Consider doing some window shopping (also Mac compatible) in our gallery below, perhaps lamenting the fact that: A) you’re not here to buy that Aloha Slime shirt. B) somebody will actually pay $75 for the Cloud Strife cologne. Gallery: TGS 2009: Shopping TGS 2009: Tokyo Game … Shopping originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 27 Sep 2009 04:00:00 EST.
