Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands screens seem too good to be true
by FeemnEloledet on Jan.12, 2010, under Gadgets, How To, Media, Video Games
Though IGN is calling the Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands images it posted screenshots, we’re not sure we buy it. They’re absolutely pretty, but the amount of motion blur and polish we’re seeing leads us to believe that these are way retouched. We’ve asked Ubisoft for clarification. The bigger problem is, of course, that no matter what they are, the Prince doesn’t look nearly enough like movie-Prince-to-be Jake Gyllenhaal. We need screens from this game to look so much like Jake Gyllenhaal that we’re confused and worried for Jake Gyllenhaal’s personal safety when we look at them

Mech room for Armored Core 5 in 2010
by FeemnEloledet on Jan.11, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Software, Video Games
From Software has been on a roll lately, with the hit Demon’s Souls and the well-received 3D Dot Game Heroes . But what of the franchise that people most closely associate with From Software (among people who associate From Software with things) — Armored Core? At an Armored Core Silent Line Portable tournament in Tokyo, From Software dated the PSP version of Armored Core: Last Raven for March 4, and (more excitingly) announced a brand-new entry in the mech series, Armored Core 5 . No details of the sequel were revealed beyond a release date, though the new AC5 site suggests that more information will be forthcoming January 14 (or when the Famitsu leaks hit).

Game controlling glove now available for pre-order and ‘The Wizard’ remakes
by FeemnEloledet on Dec.04, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
We know how hard it can be to expend precious energy on something as trivial as a keyboard – we spend all day doing exactly that! So it’s with proud, near-jubilant excitement that we bring you news of the gaming glove “Peregrine,” which allows for keyboard-free game playing, becoming available for pre-order . It’s not exactly equipped to handle twitch shooters: the Peregrine was made with MMOs in mind. Rather than push down all those pesky keyboard buttons, it allows for up to 40 different configurable movements instead. The $129 device (that’s if you pre-order — it’ll be $149 otherwise) runs on USB and will connect as a keyboard, so compatibility shouldn’t be too much of an issue. You can quit writing your Power Glove 2.0 fanfic right now – this ain’t it. We do, however, expect to see a YouTube-derived sequel to The Wizard around the end of January, when the first pre-orders are expected to ship to consumers.

Alice 2 ‘teaser’ not officially sanctioned
by FeemnEloledet on Nov.04, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
On Monday, we brought you an awfully official-looking teaser trailer for a follow-up to American McGee’s Alice , which was announced in February. Now, via his blog , McGee is debunking the cool stop-motion clip, saying, “I wanted to clear up any confusion … it was unofficial, and does not represent any of the final art direction or story elements in Alice 2 .” It’s worth noting that when we attempted to verify the clip’s authenticity on Monday, we tracked the site (the now-missing www.returnofalice.com ) back to American McGee , so the confusion is pretty understandable

LocoRoco Midnight Carnival bounces onto PSP on October 29 for $15
by FeemnEloledet on Oct.16, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
LocoRoco Midnight Carnival is rolling onto the PlayStation Network on October 29 — that’s two weeks from now — for $15. According to the PlayStation.Blog , that means you’ll be able to get “16 brand new stages, full competitive and co-op modes, two minigames, and three additional bonus stages” for the price of three foot-longs at Subway. While Midnight Carnival has very simple controls (only the shoulder buttons are used), we’re a bit surprised that the game includes a ” Demo Play “-esque feature for the kids. If a particular area is giving you a hard time, go online and connect with a friend that has the “savior mask” on. You’ll be able to hold on to that friend and bypass the entire level.

New The Saboteur media sneaks into view
by FeemnEloledet on Sep.21, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
When Irish protagonist Sean in The Saboteur isn’t busy, uh, saboteuring , he likes to frequent the local gentleman’s establishment, The Belle de Nuit. And about four seconds into the above clip, we totally get why he would: his passion for architecture. Look at the beautiful hanging chandeliers and balustrades in that building and tell us there’s any other reason for the dude to be hanging around there
