Whitesnake songs coming to one music game or another, Coverdale not sure
by mishkamiha on Feb.16, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Sure, you could guess that it was sex, drugs or rock and roll that addled Whitesnake vocalist David Coverdale’s mind so much that he can’t recall with any clarity which music game franchise he recently approved the band’s “Here I Go Again” and “Still of the Night” for. And you’d probably be right — if anyone took too many drugs and rocked a little too hard in the late ’80s, it was probably Coverdale. But don’t jump to conclusions

Cameron entertaining possibility of doing more games with Ubisoft
by mishkamiha on Jan.12, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Though it sounds intriguing and exciting on the outside, there’s something about the X-Play interview with James Cameron we put after the break that kind of bums us out. The director recently told the show, “I’ve got a lot of stories and I don’t have time to make them all as movies. That’s something I’m exploring with Ubisoft, to see if there’s maybe a relationship around just getting some of these story and world ideas into games.” It’s good news if you’re a fan of Ubisoft or Cameron, but bad news if you’re not a fan of watching a man entering his twilight years, fully aware that his own mortality may keep him from sharing all the stories he wants to with mankind. That’s kind of a total bummer . Look for James Cameron’s Grim Realization and Acceptance of the Inevitability of His Own Death coming to PS3 and 360 in 2011.

Borderlands’ second DLC pack: Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot will enrage Mel Gibson fans
by mishkamiha on Dec.10, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
click to enlarge The latest item of DLC coming to Borderlands adds new, combat-focused content to the game … while simultaneously removing any artifice with which Gearbox was obscuring the universe’s cinematic inspiration . Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot (get it?) adds three new Riot Mode arenas for single-player or co-op, along with a new bank feature for storing weapons. That’s right, a bank . For weapons.

The many artistic portrayals of Lara Croft
by mishkamiha on Nov.19, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
[Nebeziel, deviantART user ] A Google image search of Lara Croft is a lot tamer than it used to be these days, though it’s still something we wouldn’t suggest doing. Thankfully, we have a link to quench your thirst for inspired, non-naked, sexually-deprived-fanboy-fantasy-quasi-porn, courtesy of The Design Inspiration . There are 40 fanworks in total, all originating from deviantART (obviously). There are a lot of great renditions, including the image where Lara is fighting dinosaurs and the one where she’s hiding from dinosaurs .

In fact, there are multiple games available for WiiWare, Virtual Console, and DSiWare, which seems like a rare feat for Nintendo of America. Head past the break to see if any of the other new games excite you.

FIFA 10 won’t relinquish top UK sales spot to Uncharted 2
by mishkamiha on Oct.19, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Software, Video Games
FIFA 10 may have seen a 54 percent sales drop in the UK last week, but it still maintained its place in the top sales spot for the region. The soccer football title has now surpassed the million sales mark and has done so three weeks faster than FIFA 09 did last year. Last week’s PS3 mega-release, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , entered the ” All Formats ” chart in second place, but was top (naughty) dog on the PS3 sales chart.
