by bestgamblingforum on Feb.06, 2010, under Gadgets, Mac, Media, Video Games
click to see the whole battlefield Big-time RTS Supreme Commander 2 is rolling ever closer to release next month, and to whet your appetite for (unit) production , we’ve got some new screens and descriptions of three of the units you’ll be Supreme Commanding around the battlefield. First up is the Bomb Bouncer, a shielded unit that gains power as it’s fired upon and can then throw all of that stored-up damage right back in the faces of any units around it. The Pulinsmash is a unit that creates a vortex to “pull and smash” surrounding units into it, damaging and disrupting them like popcorn in a popper. Finally, the Kraken, as you can see on the right in the picture above, is a sea creature -shaped Cybran experimental submarine that can take down other subs, aircraft and even battlebots on land. Sure, these machines are awesome to go to war with, and we get the whole “commanding the troops” thing, but don’t forget that every one of these rank-and-file units has a family.

DICE explains Battlefield Bad Company 2 dedicated server rentals
by pitirmo on Jan.16, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
One of the many volleys in DICE’s Battlefield Bad Company 2 marketing campaign meant to sway Modern Warfare 2 loyalists towards its upcoming shooter was the promise of dedicated servers for PC players. That said, when the Swedish game development house recently announced a rental service for those interested in using said dedicated servers, some folks were less than thrilled. According to producer Gordon Van Dyke in an interview with Eurogamer , the reasoning doesn’t have to do with profits so much as protecting “the game’s integrity on PC.” Van Dyke also indicates that DICE’s “authorized hosts” have already been chosen worldwide, though he notes that the studio “will see where the game goes and support it post-launch.” At very least, PC gamers will get a chance to find out if the rental fee is worth it when the game goes into PC beta on January 28. Bad Company 2 multiplayer trailer portrays ideal gaming experience
by OrelryTed on Jan.07, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Fiction : Wow, so, we were totally on the back of this ATV, bullets going everywhere and then jumped this ramp. Oh yeah, and then when we landed I went right up to this tank’s butt and blew it up with an RPG, it was awesome! Then we ran into this factory, and we were like “woah,” cause there were all these bullets whizzing by. Then we captured the zone, ran down some stairs and were staring down the barrel of another tank, but we were lucky ’cause our chopper blew it up from the sky. I totally didn’t get hit by any bullets, it was like playing with nOObs! Reality : F*ck, man! I bet you it’s some 12-year-old who keeps sniping us every time we get on these vehicles.

Though Epic’s Tim Sweeney classified it as the “same engine” that runs on PC, Engadget described it as “A lot like the iPhone demo we saw recently

by jobitagates on Jan.07, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
We were unbelievers at the beginning of this new Bayonetta ad (after the break), in which Mega64’s Rocco Botte insisted that he could emulate — nay — top any of the titular action star’s moves. But he’s definitely shooting bullets with his feet and he promises repeatedly that his hair is a demon, so now whose face has got egg on it? That’s right: Ours
