Having pulled some of its heaviest hitters out of the busy Q1 release calendar, Capcom is ready to reassign those titles to an entirely new part of the calendar, one that hasn’t been getting nearly as much attention as its numeric predecessor: Q2. Monster Hunter Tri was already announced for April, but now Super Street Fighter IV will join it on April 27th in North America and April 30th in Europe. New characters, new combos, and the return of the smash-a-car bonus stage (see pic!) are highlights of the not-yet-priced though sure-to-be affordable followup. Lost Planet 2 is more “sequel” than Super Street Fighter IV -style expansion. The co-op focused third-person shooter offers “larger-than-life bosses” and four player co-op over Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, and you’ll be able to take it up on that offer on May 18th in both North America and Europe.

Ubisoft has reported financial results for the first half of its fiscal year, ending September 30, 2009. Coming in at €166 million ($246 million), this year’s sales represent a drop of 52% when compared to the first two fiscal quarters of the previous year. Second-quarter sales totaled €83 million ($123 million) — a drop of 53.1%, though one that Ubisoft states falls within previously issued guidance.

Tony Bartel, GameStop’s executive vice president of merchandising and marketing, has some high expectations for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 . In fact, he told shareholders and media listening in on the company’s recent Q2 earnings call that the latest Infinity Ward FPS “could be the best selling title of all time,” IndustryGamers reports. Of all time . That would be quite an impressive feat, given the titles it’d need to trample in order to become king of the hill.

Blizzard COO Paul Sams mentioned at BlizzCon that they haven’t yet ruled out Diablo 3 for consoles. “We’ve met with the major manufacturers, and they’ve made some pretty compelling arguments,” Sams said. The Xbox 360 has reached a milestone in Europe, having recently surpassed nine million console sales in the region. Microsoft’s Chris Lewis confirmed the figure to MCV , stating that the console now has “about 27 per cent of the current share of the console market.” For those of you keepng score at home, that’s about a million consoles sold since January .

Xbox 360 sells over 9 million in Europe

There’s enough fanfare in this trailer to make Michael Bay proud. Actually, make that a pre-CGI Michael Bay. Probably a film school-era Michael Bay. It has all the bombast and fanfare of a Michael Bay movie, just without all of the extremely fast intercutting and multiple explosions. Google recently gave the OK for Blackberry users to download and try out there new application that syncs calendar data between Google Calendar and your Blackberry Calendar, but you might be better off waiting for them to work out the kinks before giving the new application a full on workout.

The new Google Sync application is a small download, currently only available for Blackberry. I downloaded the app and gave it a go, but here are a few issues that I ran into, and the Google support groups don’t seem to have a clear answer for any of them. (continue reading…)
