Rock Band Wiikly: Pearl Jam, Mission of Burma, Offspring and more
by cindyslimg on Jun.29, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Rock Band Wiikly ’s tap has flowed with massive quantities of tracks for weeks now. Sure, the releases aren’t exactly synced with Rock Band Weekly , but the back catalog of Rock Band DLC is certainly being filled in. Our concern that it would take until mid-2010 for the full catalog sync is slowly dissipating.

Play Rock Band with bands from the Warped Tour
by rultastilmips on Jun.25, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
As part of its sponsorship of the Vans Warped Tour, Harmonix will be giving attendees a chance to play Rock Band with the actual bands performing. The strange thing about Harmonix’s post about this promotion is that the developer gives the name of the bands you’ll have the opportunity to play with, but not the location of the tour at that time. So, take a look at the list of bands after the break and compare them to the tour stops in your area . In addition to this week’s Rock Band Weekly featuring Maroon 5 and artists from the Warped Tour , those pranksters at Harmonix snuck in some Pearl Jam tracks. The three tracks were bundled with the re-release of Pearl Jam’s Ten album earlier this year. Pearl Jam Ten Bonus Pack (440 / $5.50) “Brother” (160 / $2) “Alive (Live: Drop in the Park)” (160 / $2) “State of Love and Trust (Live: Drop in the Park)” (160 / $2) These master recording will be available tomorrow and Thursday on Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively. Green Day DLC packs coming to Rock Band
by WilliamTiolkin on Jun.11, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Harmonix has been hinting around this, but now we have some official word: Green Day is bringing tracks to Rock Band via DLC in three-song packs. The first will arrive on July 7 and will include … why, their new stuff, of course! Just like you were hoping! Specifically, you can look for “21 Guns,” “Know Your Enemy” and “East Jesus Nowhere” from the band’s new 21st Century Breakdown . Before you lose your mind, take heart! More (hopefully earlier) material from the band is coming on an unannounced date.

The Beatles: Rock Band, DLC not compatible with other Rock Band games
by ApplyForAcardToday on Jun.02, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Harmonix Creative Director Josh Randall confirmed to us today that we should think of the Rock Band platform and The Beatles: Rock Band as two totally separate entities. Meaning, that The Beatles: Rock Band tracks and DLC will not be playable with any other Rock Band songs and vice versa. So, only owners of The Beatles: Rock Band will be able to download the Abbey Road album when its released as DLC later.

Seen@E3: The press lounge

While other sites bring you the latest in E3 video game news, videos and screenshots, we’re taking you inside to see how the sausage gets made. This, friends, is the E3 press room, where all your favorite outlets take the scoops, shave off the rough edges, and pass them directly on to you. There are, it should be noted, two press rooms, and this is actually the worse one because you’re not allowed to eat or drink inside of it. We don’t have a pithy comment here, we’re just still kind of upset about it

The Beatles: Rock Band intro is our ‘Real Love’
by beyonikc on Jun.01, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Rock Band fans will no doubt recognize the 3D models found in the background action of The Beatles: Rock Band , but it was the game’s intro that really stole our hearts at Microsoft’s Pre-E3 Conference . Using a stylized animation that spanned the early days to the later years of the band’s history, the intro video to The Beatles: Rock Band left us wishing the entire game adopted the unique style instead of the standard Rock Band look. Take a look for yourself (above) and let us know which you’d prefer. The Beatles: Rock Band intro is our ‘Real Love’ originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 19:30:00 EST. Project Natal video features smack talking, scruffy teenagers
by kotojuq on Jun.01, 2009, under Features, Gadgets, Media, Video Games
One of the biggest announcements at Microsoft’s E3 keynote was Project Natal , an ambitious project using camera tech developed by 3DV . The keynote promo video shows off many planned uses for the new peripheral, running the gamut from something as simple as beating up an old, feeble man , to complex voice recognition and scanning features. It’s ambitious, to say the least, and only time will tell if the company can pull it off.
