Disney won’t rule out Epic Mickey on 360, PS3
by greeranasty on Feb.18, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
When Warren Spector’s first Junction Point Studios title, Disney Epic Mickey , was revealed, many gamers were miffed to learn that the game was exclusive to the Wii — especially after being inundated with some spectacular concept art for the game. It looks like there is still some hope that the game will hit the Xbox 360 and PS3, according to Disney’s Graham Hopper. Hopper tells Gamasutra that one of the game’s core concepts is its “ink and paint mechanic”, making it ideal for the Wii. However, now that both Xbox 360 and PS3 will soon support motion controls of their own, things might be different

Ubisoft PC DRM doesn’t sound like such a good idea anymore
by CIALISoo on Feb.17, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Software, Video Games
In January , Ubisoft revealed plans to streamline its DRM policy across all PC titles, making players log in to Ubisoft servers to authenticate before playing. Although it sounded dubious at first, Ubisoft’s Brent Wilkinson assuaged our fears , explaining the new process would allow gamers to play on any computer and continue a game’s progress through a cloud-based save system. According to PC Gamer , tests of upcoming Ubisoft PC titles Assassin’s Creed 2 and Settlers VII proved how flawed the system actually is.

Lara Croft may have road named in her honor
by lumureriare on Dec.01, 2009, under Gadgets, How To, Media, Video Games
They say you can find your stripper name by combining the name of your first pet with the street you grew up on. Keeping that in mind, you may someday find yourself trying to figure out how to politely decline the awkward, compulsory advances of Miss Fluffy Lara Croft. As reported in the Derby Telegraph , the hero of the Tomb Raider series in one of eight potential names for two stretches of a road in the UK city Derby, which was the home of Core Design, the original studio behind Lara. Surprisingly, Lara Croft is not our favorite option, as the idea of being badgered into buying Scruffy John Flamsteed a $13 drink is just too wonderful to imagine.

Santa Claus is coming to PlayStation Home
by hesWevaSweava on Nov.30, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Santa has added a layover in PlayStation Home to an already-packed holiday itinerary. On December 10, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is opening up a new PlayStation Home space that allows you to see Santa’s workshop through the unique Home filter — by which we mean it’s now kind of eerie. The new Winter Wonderland space will allow you to interact with a vaguely Shatner-esque Santa Claus and elves like Robin Williams here, as you help the crew get all its preparations for Christmas done. Which means minigames ! There will be presents, of course, and a Photo Elf who will take festively decorated pictures of your Home avatar.

Brutal Legend gets papercrafted
by AlvaroMcdowell on Nov.11, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games
Our grandmother had this saying, “Handicrafts make for strange bedfellows.” In fact, she believed in it so much she once stitched the saying into a pillow she made from the skin of drifters she had lured into her home and killed. True, you don’t normally think “drifter murder” and “decorative pillows” as a pairing, so she had made her point. But we tried (and are still trying) to convince her that there are ways of stating her case that are both less illegal and involve less risk of contracting hepatitis C
