Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is back from the dead
by AntimalwareOn on Jun.21, 2009, under Gadgets, How To, Media, Video Games
Brains! Braaaaaaaiiiinnnnssss! Due to nightmarish travel complications during a return trip from E3 and then a bizarre, four-day long hippie sun-cooking ritual , the author of this humble feature has been out of commission for some time — an oversight for which said author apologizes. If only the cultivation of comics was a brisk process! As you might imagine, it takes days of intense concentration, followed by a solid day of drinking, and then another day of concentration, and then, yes, another half-day of drinking. We’re back in action, though! Below are our seven favorite gaming-centric webcomics of this past week! You can (and should!) vote for your favorite after the jump, and drop a link in the comments to tell us what gems we missed out of during our accidental furlough. Consumer Advocacy (Penny Arcade) How to Spot the Doomed Characters Early (Dipswitch) All Work and No Play (Sidescroller) The Power of Teamwork (2P Start) A Dose of Fake Reality (Virtual Shackles) Prince of Amnesia (Burn the Internet) A New Business Venture (Digital Unrest) Continue reading Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is back from the dead Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is back from the dead originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 21 Jun 2009 20:30:00 EST

by Geldaideree on Jun.04, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Our first experiment: Longcat . As it turns out, Longcat is in the game … and he’s looooooong . Equally long, but not pictured, is Longcat’s nemesis Tacgnol

by Jason Rybka on Jan.11, 2008, under Features, Gadgets, Reviews
If you’ve been looking for a good solution to make your laptop (or notebook, whichever term you prefer) a bit more user friendly while in a stationary location, then Logitech’s Alto Cordless may be a product you might consider looking into. I happened to notice the unit while I was in my local Costco retailer.
The unit I purchased differs a bit from what Logitech’s official description provides in the fact that it comes with a wireless optical mouse as well, it was also about 20 bucks cheaper than the listed $99 retail price. Here are my thoughts on the cordless notebook accessory. (continue reading…)

Starting Feb. 17, 2009 the U.S. Analog TV broadcasting will be gone for good. Meaning that if you don’t have a digital TV, or a DTV Converter Box your current TV will be pretty much useless. For those of you that are or will be signed up with cable or satellite service, the current set top box should accommodate the DTV Transition. For the few that don’t subscribe to cable or satellite service and are happy watching only the local channels, TV will come to a screeching halt.
(The FCC has mandated that cable carriers must support analog TV sets until at least 2012) (continue reading…)

Headsets for Xbox Live are a dime a dozen these days, so is it worth it to spend the extra cash on a third party headset? by Joseph Rybka on Nov.06, 2007, under Cell Phones, On the Web, Rumors
The search engine giant will, without a doubt, cause a stir in the mobile phone market with this new service. Google has announced today that they are developing a free cell phone software package. Google’s software could possibly be a direct threat to the Microsoft Corporation, being that they presently have the number one mobile operating system available to the public.
Google does not plan to make the phones themselves. Google also will not be branding the phones with their logo; instead they will be working with four different cell phone manufacturers that have agreed to deploy Google’s program into their phones. This announcement has ended the speculation pertaining to the Mountain View-based company’s cellular ambitions. These Google software packed phones won’t be on the market until around late 2008. The engineers have been busy working on this software for the past three years. This dates back to the Silicon Valley startup called Andriod Inc. that Google acquired in 2005. The mobile software still bears the Android name in acknowledgment of its heritage. (continue reading…)
