Clash of the Titans screens highlight multi-headed beasts

by Ambilidillodo on Mar.11, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Click image to fetch some more screens If you think our last batch of screens depicted some ugly creatures from Namco Bandai’s upcoming Clash of the Titans , then we guess this latest round of shots are par for the course. Featuring several screens of the multi-headed nasty you see above, our gallery below is a veritable playground of potential nightmare inducers. This beast is like a smaller, more nimble version of Cerberus from Devil May Cry 3 . Maybe a bit less chilly, too

Japanese hardware sales, Feb. 8 – Feb. 14: God Eater edition

by valmbersis on Feb.21, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Software, Video Games

The Japanese gaming hardware market didn’t do too much movin’ and shakin’ this past week, though the software sales throne was usurped by a new PSP release from Namco Bandai: God Eater . Given the game’s Monster Hunter -esque nature, we’re not surprised at its success — still, we find ourselves perplexed by that title. We did a little research and learned that, yes, gods can be eaten, if prepared properly. First, you need to go to the “gods” aisle of your local Whole Foods, and pick the deity you’d like to feast upon. We’d suggest something from the “Ancient Greek” collection, as they possess a delightful Mediterranean zest that your guests will rave about, and have historically proven to be easily digestible.

D3 serving God Eater to North America in Q3 2010

by TekOperdsxf on Feb.17, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Software, Video Games

Namco Bandai’s God Eater debuted to strong sales in Japan upon its release on February 4. Namco Bandai — or rather, its subsidiary, D3 Publisher — has wasted no time in announcing a localized version of the PSP action RPG. The Monster Hunter -like God Eater , targeted for a Q3 2010 release, puts players in control of “God Eaters,” people fighting against the monsters that have overtaken the modern world. They do this with transforming magical weapons called Jinki — giant weapons that become beast-like when powered up. While you wait for Q3 to arrive, why not try the game right now?

We just fell in love with Majin: The Fallen Realm

by EshkaOlssen on Feb.13, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Namco Bandai has been mum about Game Republic’s Majin: The Fallen Realm since introducing the game at August’s GamesCom event. In fact, even though the company just released new assets, it’s still pretty much mum on the game: the latest release consists only of one piece of character art and five screens. At least they serve as a reminder of the game’s existence! We’re absolutely certain of one thing after looking over the selection of screens: we want our own pet Majin. We were not aware from previous media that it was so Muppetish and huggable.

Readers pick best webcomic: Lost Concept Art

by DrakeK on Feb.13, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

With a narrow four-vote margin, Of Noobs and Men’s ” Lost Concept Art ” managed to claim first prize in last week’s Webcomic Wrapup . Of course, we’re using the term “prize” pretty loosely. Unless you consider what we can only assume to be a marginal bump in web traffic to be a prize. In that case, prizes ahoy ! Second and third place went to Penny Arcade’s ” The Future Is No Escape ” and Extra Life’s ” Gun to a Knife Fight, ” respectively.

EA, Namco Networks gauge ‘Apple Tablet’ gaming possibilities

by Ignoroneemess on Jan.26, 2010, under Gadgets, Mac, Media, Video Games, iPhone, iPod

“If it’s got a great screen, some buttons, you can turn it on and it connects to the Internet, it’s got the ability to be a games machine.” That’s what EA Sports president Peter Moore shared on Apple’s heavily rumored tablet device, predicted to be unveiled during a media event this Wednesday. Moore recently told Bloomberg that his knowledge on the project was derived from media reports — in which case he must know about the connection drawn between EA and the unannounced device’s game offerings. In the same report, Jon Kromrey, general manager of Apple games at Namco Networks America (which recently trumpeted 23 million downloads on iPhone and iPod Touch), expresses a notable amount of optimism regarding the platform’s gaming possibilities. “I’m having fun thinking about all the wonderful things we can do with the device when it’s announced,” he said.

New Dead to Rights: Retribution dev diary heads to Abbey Road

by whereeLycle on Jan.24, 2010, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

So what if the latest Dead to Rights: Retribution dev diary is unbelievably light on actual gameplay? It makes up for that in droves with a smattering of pretty images of the Abbey Road recording studio where the game’s soundtrack is being recorded. For all the effort being put into the music, we would hope a bit more attention would be focused on the bits of game footage strewn throughout the clip
