PSA: Full PS3 Minis support to begin December 17

by TignUnrertPer on Dec.10, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Did you download last night’s optional 3.15 firmware update on PS3 only to find that none of your PSP Minis were working on the PS3? You’re not alone! The team at PSN Stores has compiled a list of all the Minis that work on Sony’s home console — a whopping five: Blast Off , Echoes , Kahoots , Stand O’ Food and Zombie Tycoon . But what about the remaining Minis? Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a week before the whole lineup is expected to work on the PS3. That means, at least for one week, your copy of Sudoku will remain exclusively on your PSP.

Seen@GamesCom: Hating expensive Sony products

by maliaroumma on Aug.18, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

In the shadow of Sony’s hotel in Cologne, Germany, a street ad displays a rather good deal. Electronics retailer Saturn is urging passersby to pick up a PS3 and a PSP for €399 — not a bad deal, considering the PS3 costs that much on its own. Now we understand Saturn’s tag line! “Wir hassen teuer,” as in, “We hate expensive.” Of course, who knows if that deal will remain as hot within the next few hours, when Sony has its press conference on the eve of GamesCom . It’s widely speculated that the company will announce a PS3 Slim and a possible price drop

PS3 price drops spotted in Europe, US cut a possibility [update: Hastings responds]

by DupeDactuch on Aug.14, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Retailers, Video Games

Update: Hastings has since issued a cease & desist letter to Joystiq, requesting we remove the image. According to Hastings’ director of merchandising, the ad is “blatantly false,” although we have good reason to believe otherwise. SCEA’s Patrick Seybold also offered a rare comment, saying the ad “is fake.” Thankfully, he did not do this to us. While we’re respecting the request of Hastings, it’s clear that a significant change is happening to Sony’s business strategy regarding the PS3

Sony introduces Rockstar’s Agent as a PS3 exclusive

by Addilaimpardy on Jun.02, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Sony has landed a big Rockstar exclusive — they have just announced that the Grand Theft Auto developer is bringing a new IP called Agent to the PS3. Details are still as shrouded in secrecy like so many spies, but we’re told the game “will take the player across the globe” to participate in various spy-related activities. Sony says they expect Agent to have the same effect on their platform as the original GTA3 exclusive did with the PS2, but we’ll have to see.

Need For Speed ProSteet Interview

by Christina Mariannino on Nov.18, 2007, under Features, Video Games

nfsprostreet I’ve always been a big fan of the Need For Speed series of video games, so when I was in New York a couple of weeks ago I jumped at the opportunity to interview Mike Mann, Senior Producer for Need For Speed ProStreet. Now, unfortunately there were a couple of questions that weren’t answered, but it seems Mike did a good job at clearing up most of my concerns. Read the full NFS ProStreet interview at Xbox Solution.
