Swag Saturday: Tekken 6 (360)

by Encanlinold on Nov.21, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Here it is, folks: your chance to beat up relatives all throughout the holiday season, albeit from the relative safeness of Tekken 6 ’s confines! For this week’s Swag Saturday , we’re giving out a copy of Tekken 6 for the Xbox 360 to one lucky commenter who tells us which fictitious holiday character (think: Santa, the Easter Bunny) they’d like to beat up the most, and with which Tekken 6 character they’d like to do so with. Fancy a battle of Kuma vs The Tooth Fairy?

Swag Saturday: Katarmari Forever and Warhawk (PS3)

by diseno on Oct.17, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

In an effort to keep lowering our continuously growing stack of Swag Saturday giveaway prizes, this week we’re offering a seemingly random combination of Katamari Forever and Warhawk . Our reasoning seemed sound at the time: give the Joystiq BioMass[TM] something old and something new, nothing borrowed, and no one will be blue. … Okay, so we just wanted to give away a couple of PS3 games and those were the first two that we picked up.

Swag Saturday: Final Fantasy spinoff pack (PSP)

by hewriscuire on Oct.10, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

If you’re like us, you’re ready for The Future of Digital Entertainment[TM] and want to get rid of all that silly, antiquated physical media still laying around the house. We’re using some for coasters (something’s gotta hold our Zima!), some for Halloween treats later this month, and some for Swag Saturday giveaways. We’re hoping that you’re not like us and are instead hungrily searching for your chance to win a copy of both Dissidia Final Fantasy and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (on UMD, of course ). Leave a comment below letting us what you’re going to do with your physical media when the future is upon us and there’s no turning back. We’ll choose one winner at random after the comments are closed 24 hours from now.

300 and Watchmen composer Tyler Bates scoring The 40th Day

by Anna kroshunicka on Oct.10, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Remember that scene in 300 where that guy is giving that other guy lip, and that guy’s all like ” No sir! ” and he kicks him into that big pit? And then the music’s all like “DUHN DUHN DUHN, DUHN DAAH?” What about that scene in the latest episode of Californication where that girl is giving David Duchnovny lip, and Duchovny’s all like ” No sir! ” and he kicks her into that big pit?

Swag Saturday: Guitar Hero triple pack and bass pedal

by allerneillugh on Sep.26, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

It’s time for Swag Saturday once again, and this week’s prize is a doozy. Up for grabs we have not one, not two, but three Guitar Hero games. We’ve got Xbox 360 copies of Guitar Hero: Metallica , Guitar Hero: Smash Hits and Guitar Hero 5 , all for the low, low price of nothing (and all released this year , if you can believe it). And, as if that weren’t enough, we’re throwing in an extra bass pedal (with splitter cable) too.

Swag Saturday: Gears of War Jacinto’s Remnant

by Hitoboattibra on Aug.15, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

Today is the day that comes after Friday, which means one thing here at Joystiq: another fun filled (and librarian approved) Swag Saturday ! This week, we’re giving away ten copies of the recently released Gears of War Jacinto’s Remnant novel. While we can’t be sure how entertaining the copy reads, we are certain that the novel’s Marcus Fenix artwork oozes badass. He has an intimidating glare that can both kill his enemies and make women weak in their tree limb-sized knees. (Get a room, you two! -Ed .) Leave a comment telling us who your favorite character is within’ the Gears of War universe.

Inglourious Plummers trailer finally combines Mario and Tarantino

by tdomf_be9e6 on Aug.15, 2009, under Gadgets, Media, Video Games

We always thought the Leguizamo-infused Super Mario Bros . film had the propensity to be amazing, if only a more visionary director had grasped the reins of the adaptation. The video we’ve posted after the jump gives a look into a parallel universe of what could have been — a universe where Quentin Tarantino had control of the plumber’s first silver screen excursion. The video was produced by the folks over at GamerVision. You might want to brush up on the trailer for Tarantino’s upcoming film Inglourious Basterds before you check it out — their video is a shot-by-shot remake of said trailer, only it takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom instead of Nazi Germany
